1944 – 2021
Thompson – Joseph S. Suich, Sr., 77, of Quaddick Rd., died Thursday September 23, 2021, at home. Born in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Elizabeth B. (Hudak) Suich. Joseph moved to Thompson with his family in 1975 and lived in the beautiful home he built on Quaddick Lake.
Mr. Suich was in the air filtration industry for 30 plus years where his accomplishments were recognized nationwide. He was the owner and operator of J. Suich Industries. He started the business with his son David in 2015 and together grew the company into the thriving business it is today.
Joseph was a member of Valley Springs Sportsman Club where he created and maintained a beautiful flower garden in honor of his daughter Debra. He was also an active member of The Worcester County Beekeepers Association and the Master Gardeners American Horticultural Society. Joseph’s passion was gardening, his yard resembling a property worthy of a magazine spread. He took great pride in his flower and vegetable gardens, always happy to give “garden tours” to new guests. Joseph also enjoyed playing and collecting chessboards and beekeeping, harvesting his own honey in the Spring and Fall. Joseph will be remembered as a very generous and outgoing person. The fruits of his labor were not just for himself as he donated his vegetables and flowers to various local organizations.
He is survived by his two sons, David Suich and his lifelong love Renee “Mo” Therrien and Joseph S. Suich, Jr. and two grandchildren; his brother, Robert L. Suich. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debra Beth Suich.
A Life Celebration will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Valade Funeral Home & Crematory, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com
