    Dear Karpenski family,

Please except the Chzaszcz family’s Deepest Sympathy on the passing of Joe. My father Stanley & Joe were very close friends. There was a time not so long ago when they use to do everything together. Time passes so quickly the older we get.
I was just a young boy when Joe came to work for my Dad and Uncle Eddie at Chzaszcz Excavating. They left their mark in the town of Putnam with all the construction projects they worked on. I can see Joe clearing snow at Day Kimball Hospital and shoveling the sand by hand on the icy spots. I can remember Joe teaching me how to operate the Payloader when I was nine years old. My Dad always appreciated his hard and dedicated work. We had a lot of really good times fishing on my fathers boat, which my father credited Joe with helping to get it restored and sea-worthy. I grew up with Joe always being around and he was a long time tenant at the Chzaszcz family apartments on Oak St.. He was thought of as part of the family, but I never knew much about his family. It is with deep regret that I am unable to attend today’s service, because it would have been a pleasure to meet and talk with Joe’s family. May your memories of Joe ease your sorrows at this time of your loss.

    Sincerely,
    Steven Chzaszcz
