Woodstock Valley – Joseph J. Welch, 81, died January 10, 2016, in Day Kimball Hospital. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Mills) Welch. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Michael and Lillian (Orpen) Welch.
Mr. Welch worked as an entrepreneur in real estate for many years. He enjoyed watching classic movies, woodworking, animals, and cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Joseph is predeceased by his daughter, Joanne and his son in-law Charles and survived by grandson, Ryan Brown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Jeanne, son-in-law Gordon and granddaughter, Taylor B. McGregor; daughter Sarah, son-in-law Scott and granddaughters, Madison E. and Avery B. Bailey; and son, Thomas, daughter-in-law Taryn and granddaughter, Ellie M. Welch.
Services are private and have been entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260.
