
1934 – 2021
Jonathan Clinton Taylor, age 86 formerly of Shelton, passed away on January 12, 2021 at Westview Healthcare Center. He was the loving husband of Alice (Millea) Taylor for over 65 years.
Jonathan was born November 21, 1934 in Bridgeport, son of Clinton and Kate (Perry) Taylor. He was the 9th of 10 children.
After graduating from Shelton High School in 1954, he married the love of his life, Alice on August 20, 1955 and raised 5 children. He was a self-employed building contractor for many years.
He was greatly involved with his community serving as a volunteer fireman for Huntington fire house, President of Shelton Little League North, coach of baseball, softball and basketball. He was a founding member of the SHS Quarterback Club and served in his local government as a member of the Shelton Board of Education and the Shelton Park and Rec. Commission. He enjoyed football, baseball, camping, fishing, furniture building, and vegetable gardening.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Alice, his sister Kate Hayes of Southbury, his children Jonathan E. Taylor (Linda) of Shelton, Keron M. Taylor (Cynthia) of Bethany, Andrew S. Taylor of Derby, Lauren T, Cremers (Christopher) and Nancy T. Chavez (Kevin) both of Woodstock, CT. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren Bryan, Jonathan (Sydney), Casey, Morgan, Jamie, Emily, and Bridget Taylor, Kate (Paul) Ferrucci, Carolyn (Michael) Clinton, Christopher (Briana), Mitchell, and Jacob Cremers, Cole, Reid and Tate Chavez, and 2 great-grandchildren Emma and Cora Clinton.
He is predeceased by eight of his siblings.

I’m so sorry to hear of Uncle Jon’s passing. I have fond memories of him from my childhood. In reading his obituary, I’m happy to see how much his family expanded and imagine this brought him great joy. Rest In Peace Uncle Jon.
