North Grosvenordale – Joel J. Fierro, 58, of Reardon Rd, died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carla (Kaye) Fierro for 35 years. Born in Webster, MA, he was the son of Simone (Pontbriant) Fierro of North Grosvenordale and the late Richard Fierro.
Joel worked as a diesel mechanic for the Town of Thompson retiring in 2018. In retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed working for Tractor Supply Co. in Putnam, CT. He was a member of Valley Springs Sportsmen’s Club. Known to his sons as “Pa” and “Papa” to his grandchildren, he cherished family campfires, fishing, and camping with them. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, cooking and he could fix anything that was broken.
In addition to his wife Carla, Joel was “Pa” to Anthony Fierro and his wife Megan of Sutton, MA, Nicholas Fierro and his wife Ashley of Thompson, Ronnie Fierro and his significant other Katie Severance of Spencer, MA, and Dominic Fierro of Thompson; and brother to Richard Fierro and his wife Susan of Virginia, and Mark Fierro and his wife Tabitha of Salisbury, VT; and “Papa” to two grandchildren. He was looking forward to the arrival of his third grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joel’s family from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the Valade Funeral Home & Crematory, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
