Joanne  Cassettari

April 20, 1931 – June 22, 2021

Putnam – Joanne (Murray) Cassettari, 90, of Putnam, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Westview Healthcare Center, Dayville CT. She was the loving wife of Renzo Cassettari.  She was the daughter of the late Harold and Claire (Daigle) Murray.

Joanne worked as a dental assistant for many years, however her greatest achievement was as a loving wife and mother to her five children.

Joanne is survived by three sons, Peter Cassettari of Putnam, CT, Philip Cassettari of South Windsor, CT, Paul Cassettari and life partner, Pamela Quinn of Barrington, NH;  two daughters, Susan Cassettari of Killingly CT and Lisa Cassettari of Dayville, CT, brother, Phillip Murray of Plainfield, CT;  and her beloved two grandsons, Keith, Cole; three granddaughters, Brittany, Jessica, Carly; two great-granddaughters, Lucca and Vienna.

She was predeceased by Stepfather, Peter Jalbert, brother, Robert Murray, and sister, Madeline Deitert.

Joanne and her late husband Renzo were best known for their fruit and produce store, Danielson Fruit Store, Danielson Ct.  It was in that store where Joanne could be found working alongside Renzo while also raising her 5 children.  After Renzo’s death in 1988, Joanne went on to work as a dental assistant for Dr. Edward Duval until her retirement.  After retirement, Joanne enjoyed the love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was happiest when spending time traveling, taking care of grandchildren and just enjoying life.  She loved the beach and the sun and was known for always having a glowing tan and never opting out on the opportunity to catch some rays!

Joanne lived a long life.  We are truly blessed to have had her for many years.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

All are invited to join in a mass on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 11:00 am in St.  Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam, CT.  We invite all loved ones, family and friends to join the family directly after the church service at the Elks Club, Putnam Ct. so we may come together to honor Joanne’s life.

Lisa and the rest of the Cass bunch. Sorry to hear about your Mom. She was always such a beautiful woman and I loved seeing her at the store when we went in, and we went in often. A blessing to have had her for 90 years. You were always an admired family. Nice knowing her and your Dad are together. She made him wait awhile. Love to all of you.

To the Cassetteri family, I am very saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was my neighbor for many years. I enjoyed talking to her. She had so many stories to tell and spoke about her kids all the time. I will hold her memory in my heart and remain thankful to have known her.

I was sorry to hear of Joanne’s passing. It has been many years since I saw her, but I remember her as not only very beautiful, but always calm and gracious. She and Renzo (my father’s first cousin) were important figures in my early life. I looked forward to visiting with them, She made a big impression on a young girl. My sincere sympathy to her children, grandchildren, and all those who loved her. Sincerely, Jennifer Cassettari

Lisa, Sue, Paul, Phil & Peter –

How grateful we are to have experienced the joy, warmth, affection, humor, and consistent kindness of your beloved Mom. Your collective devotion to her, especially in all these years since your Dad’s passing, was indeed the greatest gift a child can offer…and you did not disappoint. Her deep, abiding love for her children, grandchildren and extended family will live on through all of you. May you take comfort in knowing for certain that your Dad returned so they could finish that long-awaited cruise…and together they have set sail for eternal paradise. Godspeed, beautiful Joanne…finally reunited with your beloved Renzo. Your legacy is forever etched upon our hearts. – Linda, Laura, and Helene
