My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. I only knew her for the short time my husband was in Matulaitis. She was the greeter, and I grew to look forward to seeing her and just what she had decorated that day. She certainly made her little room look like home and I loved and needed that. I’m sure she will be deeply missed. I’m so happy I got to know her.

My sympathy and blessings,

Condolence from Russell B. Cote on January 10th, 2021 1:30 pm

My sincere condolences, Joan will truly be missed. Through the years, I was fortunate to share a number of holiday meals with the Laflamme family, and always looked forward to her wit and willingness to share her point of view. Her positivity and humor, even in the midst of personal loss and grief was an inspiration. The devotion to her faith was always at her core, and so apparent. She had strong views about life, and it could be a bit of an adventure to ask her challenging questions. Her responses were directionally predictable, but were frequently peppered with wit and some unpredictable detours. She made me laugh on many occasions, sometimes out loud, and certainly on the inside on many more. She added a certain richness to those family occasions, and I will always remember her with a smile!

We are so sorry to hear of her passing. She was a special friend to my daughters. When we would visit my grandma across the hall from her she and my girls would chat in the hallway the whole visit. She loved showing them her holiday/seasonal decorations. She always made my girls feel like they were special to her. We will miss her for sure.

Kurt, we were so saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. Our family made the most wonderful memories at “The Laflammes.” Whether it was our Sunday spaghetti dinners, drop ins after football games, or Mom’s Thanksgiving Brunches, we always looked forward to getting together. Joan’s wit, her sense of humor, her all around wonderful personality will never be forgotten. We send much love to you and your family and know that you’ll forever hold and cherish comforting memories close to your hearts. With sincerest sympathy, Cos, Bernadette, Kaleen and Chris ❤️

To Kurt, Kathy, Connor, Spencer and to Diane, Dawn and all the family –

My heart goes out to you in the great loss of a great lady, Joan. I wish I could be with you today at St. Joe’s, where I will remember her joy in attending midnight mass. I was so upset to learn of Joan’s passing today. Was so pleased to have spoken on the phone with her before the holidays and hear about the family, and was hoping that she would soon be able to visit with you in person. What a beautiful, loving soul who always cared about others and made everyone feel a part of the family. Will cherish all the times with the LaFlammes, like the Thanksgiving morning receptions, that Joan made special. She bore too many losses in this life and is now at last with her angels, Roger, Scott and Lee.

With love and deep sympathy,
Lisa Hayden & Ken Heidel
