Putnam – Jeanne D’Arc (Roy) Drouin, 81, died Monday, January 23, 2006, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. Born in St. Zachary, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Achilles and Emma (Cloutier) Roy.
Mrs. Drouin was a seamstress for the American Optical Co. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, but most of all she loved babysitting and playing with her grandchildren.
She leaves seven loving children, Jean-Paul Drouin of Canada, Jean-Yves and Christian Drouin of Putnam, Denis and Marie-France Drouin of Thompson, Gaetan Drouin of St. Petersburg, Florida and Manon Hawes of Danielson; sixteen grandchildren, Alain Drouin, Nadia Drouin-Gaboury, Genevieve Drouin, Bianca Drouin, Roland Drouin, Crista Drouin, Michael Drouin, David Drouin, Nicole Drouin, Bonnie Lindell, Heidi Davis, Benjamin Drouin, Forrest Drouin, Taylor Hawes, Jared Hawes and Natalie Hawes; eleven great-grandchildren, Kevin Drouin, Kayla Drouin, Etienne Gaboury, Craig Drouin, Brady Drouin, Adam Drouin, Nathan Drouin, Matthew Sheldon, Madison Sheldon, Alyssa Lindell and Claudia Davis; ten brothers and sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday in St. Mary’s Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial will in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
