1925-2008

Grosvenordale – Jean L. Duquette, 83, of Riverside Drive, died Sunday September 28, 2008 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam.  He was the husband of Jenny (Perrotta) Duquette.  He was born in North Grosvenordale, son of the late Arsene and Lovina (Laflamme) Duquette.

Mr. Duquette served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII and Korea.  He earned the American Theater medal, the Asiatic Pacific medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Victory Medal.  He worked as a machinist for Pratt and Whitney and retired from Belding Heminway Corticelli on July 1, 1987.  He was a lifelong communicant of St Joseph Church and a member of the Oscar Swanson post #67 American Legion. He loved football and baseball.

Besides his wife, Duke is survived by his son, Richard Duquette of Auburn, MA; his daughter, Pamela Trembley of Sturbridge, MA; three step-sons, Ronald Durand of North Grosvenordale, Raymond Durand of Thompson, and David Durand of North Grosvenordale; his stepdaughter, Paula Ramos of Putnam; four sisters, Beatrice Langlois of North Grosvenordale, Lorraine Labonte of North Grosvenordale, Alice Danis of North Grosvenordale, Evelyn Hicks of Putnam; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Duke’s family on Thursday, October 2, 2008, from 9:00-10:00 am in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St, N. Grosvenordale, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St. N. Grosvenordale. Burial with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, 20 Main Street, N. Grosvenordale, CT. 06255.
