1973 – 2009
Putnam – Jason K. Key, Sr., 35, of Walnut Street, died Friday, November 6, 2009, after a long courageous battle with cancer at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the loving husband of Pamela (Duhaime) Key. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of Dessie (Green) Key and the late Ezarick O. Key, Sr.
Jason played little league in Danielson and played football for Winmin Jr. High and Tollgate High in Warwick, RI. He also played basketball for 4 years at Tollgate High in Warwick. After graduating from Tollgate High School, he attended the Community College of Rhode Island. Before becoming ill, he worked in the shipping and receiving department for Convenient Graphics in North Grosvenordale.
Jason was a proud and loving father. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Lakers, and enjoyed watching boxing. He was creative in art illustration and cooking, had a love of music, and was a great dancer. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Besides his wife and mother, Jason is survived by his sons, Korbin Key of Putnam, Jason Key, Jr. of Chicago, Ethan Key of Putnam; his stepson Joshua Desrochers of Putnam; and his stepdaughter, Jordyne Desrochers of Putnam; his brothers, Randy Lomba and his wife Ginny of CA; Leslie “Snookie” Alston and Marielle Lemieux of Montreal Canada, Carlo Key and his wife Amy of Putnam, Ezarick Key, Jr. and his girlfriend Debbie Bernier of Putnam; his sisters, Robin Alston of CA, Ericka Key of RI; his grandmother, Gladys Key of Georgia; his nieces and nephews; James Lomba, Fabian Alston, Cassie Alston, Joshua Key, Chelsea Key, Blair Alston, Dimitri Key, Ezaviar Key; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, the late Bridget Key.
