1967 – 2022
Manchester – Jacqueline R. Mainville, 54, a longtime resident of Thompson, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Manchester Memorial Hospital due to complications of COVID-19. Born in Putnam, CT on March 14, 1967 she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Laura (Oleszewski) Cartier. Jackie was the youngest of six children and attended Thompson Public Schools. After graduation, she secured a job in the insurance industry.
Jackie was an underwriter for Commerce Insurance Co. for many years. She enjoyed reading, traveling, jewelry, spending time with her family and friends, and hosting parties at her home on Quaddick Lake. Everyone knew Jackie for her contagious laugh, generosity, and personality to be the life of the party. Anyone who knew Jackie knew the rule was to never get her hair wet, as she prided herself on her appearance. Never having children of her own, Jackie adored her nieces, nephews, and all of their friends. She was always willing to help out someone in need, never expected anything in return, and her door was always open.
Jacqueline is survived by her sisters, Naomi Peterson of Woodstock, CT, and Kathy Geiger of West Virginia; several nieces and nephews throughout the country, and numerous friends around the world. She was predeceased by both of her parents; her sisters Linda Bates, Susan Cartier; her brother Bernard Cartier Jr.; her nephew Joshua Peterson; and niece Kelly Bates.
Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St, Putnam, CT. For memorial guestbook please visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
