N. Grosvenordale – Hector L. Morin, 86, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Danielson CT. He was the loving husband of Rose (Kralik) Morin for 62 years. Born in North Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late Arthur Morin, Sr. and the late Dorilla (Jodoin) Morin.
Mr. Morin worked as an inspecting engineer for Faye, Spoffard & Thorndike in Boston MA, until his retirement in 1990. He served his country in the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Morin was a lifetime member of the Community Fire Department, and a member of the St. Bernard’s Council 2087 Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and VFW, all located in North Grosvenordale. He served as a member on the Thompson Board of Education for 46 years. Mr. Morin was also a member of the PT Boat Association.
In addition to his wife, Hector is survived by his two sons, Paul Morin of N. Grosvenordale and Thomas Morin of Woodstock; his daughter, Charlotte Cancelmo of N. Grosvenordale; his brothers, Edward Morin of N. Grosvenordale and Ulde Morin of Northford; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Cancelmo of Burlington, CT.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 17, 2007 in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial with Military Honors to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Valade Funeral Homes has been entrusted with Hector’s arrangements.
