Gordon S. Adams
1938 – 2009

North Grosvenordale – Gordon S. Adams, 70, of Reardon Road, died Sunday, February 22, 2009. He was the loving husband of Lorraine (LaChappelle) Adams. Born in Willimantic, he was the son of Frances (Larned) Stearns of Willimantic and the late Harold Adams and Ellsworth Stearns.

Mr. Adams worked as a superintendent for CECO Concrete Construction. He served in the National Guard for 9 years and he loved to go deep sea fishing. He was a member of the Tristate Four Wheelers and enjoyed Jeep racing and hill climbing.

In addition to his wife and mother, Gordon is survived by his sons, Gordon Adams II of Putnam, James Adams of Wauregan, and Donald L. Adams of Putnam; his daughters, Susan Adams of Canterbury, and Lorie Anne Adams of Putnam; his brothers, Donald Adams of Chaplin, CT, and Jared Stearns of Ellington, CT; his sisters, Maryellen Bill of Willimantic, Martha Baker of Willimantic, and Willamena Williams of Windham; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Cynthia Milholme.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gordon’s family from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Thursday, February 26, 2009 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church Street, Putnam, CT, with a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, N. Grosvenordale.
