Gilberte “Toby” Beaulieu

1922 – 2023

 Grosvenordale – Gilberte (Martel) Beaulieu, 100, of Whittemore Ave, Grosvenordale, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph R. Beaulieu. Born in Sherbrooke, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lydia Martel.

Gilberte worked for Preferred Plastics for many years. She had a passion for ballroom dancing, loved going on cruises and always enjoyed going on bus trips.

Gilberte is survived by daughter, Jeanne (Norman) Methot of Danielson, CT; sister-in-law Katherine Phillips of Vernon, CT; two granddaughters, Patricia, Rose; grandson, Robert; five great-granddaughters, Amanda, Katelyn, Jacqueline, Samantha, Abigail; three great-grandsons, Nicholas, Tyler, Kyle. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by son, John P Beaulieu; brother, Paul Martel, brother, Lucian Martel; sister, Theresa Uccello, and sister, Aline Gladue.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gilberte’s family from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., North Grosvenordale. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., North Grosvenordale at 11:30 am. Graveside Service to follow at 12:30 pm in St. Joseph Cemetery.     Sincere condolence to Jeanne and family I have great souvenirs of Gilberte and remember her from the many visits we had when she came to Sherbrooke with Bob to visit my Mom and Dad as well as the family. May she rest in the peace of the Lord forever.
