Putnam – Gerard A. Ouellette, 87, of Putnam, died November 9, 2022, in Day Kimball Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Pauline (Mailloux) Ouellette for 59 years. Born in Mystic, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Jean (Lavigne) Ouellette.
Mr. Ouellette served in the United States Navy during the Korean war where he learned the trade of being an electrician. He worked for Pratt and Whitney as an electrician for over 30 years, beginning in 1962 until his retirement in 1991. Before that he worked for the American Thread Mill, where he met his wife, Pauline. The two were married August 1, 1959.
Mr. Ouellette had a love of airplanes, he worked on 747’s while at Pratt and Whitney and always had a dream of flying planes someday. The Family in earlier years would spend all their summers at their cottage on Quaddick lake, enjoying swimming, water skiing, and Holiday clam bakes.
Gerard is survived by two sons, Joseph Ouellette and his wife Tara of Thompson, CT, and Peter Ouellette of Hartford, CT; three daughters, Patricia Evans and her husband Greg of Putnam, CT, Linda Pasay and her husband Christopher of Putnam, CT, and Alma McMerriman and her husband John of Brooklyn, CT; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
