We enjoyed meeting you and Frank when you came to Terre Haute for Mario’s surprise birthday party. You were awesome guests (and we still use the kitchen towels you gave us). It was so nice to meet the parents of some of our best friends, and to see who helped them become the wonderful people they are. We are thinking of and praying for your family.

Pat,
I didn’t know you or Frank before Matulaitis but I learned a lot from both of you. He was the first resident that I ‘connected’ with and he taught me how to communicate with other patients. His great smile and firm grip on my hand made me smile too!
You, Pat, are a beautiful example of a life of love. Your caring commitment and devotion to Frank and to Matulaitis Nursing Home are an inspiration to us all.
May Frank Rest in Peace until you are together again.

Condolence from Rebecca Wiederkehr on November 24th, 2016 12:46 am

Oh, Patricia, I am so sad and sorry for your loss. Even though you know this is going to happen one is never totally prepared for it. Frank was a wonderful loving wise human being. I will always appreciate the influence he had on my life back in the day when I was struggling to make sense of some things in life. He was there. Then we became friends and I loved our interactions about many topics. I will always treasure you and Frank’s friendship. Although we did not always stay connected I felt like we were connected and were there for each other. May you draw strength from the many stories you will hear about Frank these days and your own memories.
Much love and hugs to you and your family from Lee and me. Although Lee met Frank about 31 or 2 years ago he also had great respect for him.

Dear Simoni Family, I remember Frank’s kindness from Reaching Out liturgies too many years ago: You have lost a great AND good husband, father, friend. And although It IS Frank’s “graduation,” it is very painful for those of us still here. May God grant you peace in your sorrow.

Aunt Patricia and family,
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this difficult time. Frank was such a wonderful person and I always enjoyed our visits to CT. I only wish we had made visits to St. Louis as you two are the most caring people I know. He will truly be missed. Love you to pieces. Karen Spurlock

Condolence from Robert Schutzius on December 17th, 2016 1:12 pm

Dear Patricia,

I am writing this at 9:30 Saturday morning, fully dressed and preparing to depart for the I C Church to join in the Memorial Mass and to see you again. It was a hard judgment that the weather does not permit us to join you (rain and freezing rain) coming from Florissant. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and those of the remaining RO group. We still meet twice a month and Frank’s death was recognized in your historical role in the foundation and service to RO over the years. We are down to about 15 members with only a few of us who remember well Frank and yourself.

While changed a lot, I still remember Frank and his printing Co on Hanley Rd. whenever I pass by. I hope all went well today and am very sorry we were not able to be there.

Bob Schutzius
