1915 – 2012

Putnam – Florence R. (Baranski) Tourtellotte, 96, of Thurber Road, formerly of Seely Brown Village in Pomfret died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Matulaitis Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late Marshall H. Tourtellotte, Sr. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Tessie (Stompski) Baranski.

Mrs. Tourtellotte worked as an assembler for Arrow Heart. She was very much the “Family Matriarch.” She enjoyed reading and gardening and was a communicant for Most Holy Trinity Church.

Florence was the devoted mother of Marshall H. Tourtellotte, Jr. and his wife Karin, Elizabeth A. Gingras and her husband Gerald, and Barbara J. Lamb and her husband Thomas; Loving sister of Celia Ray, Loretta Wood, Gloria Paine and her husband Al, Elaine Gingras and her husband Raymond, John Baranski and his wife Delores, sister in law Jacqueline Baranski; cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Edward Baranski, Sr, and the late Robert Baranski.

Relatives and friends of Florence’s are invited to Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Rd, Pomfret at 10:30 on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Burial will follow in West Thompson Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Florence’s memory to Matulaitis Nursing Home, 10 Thurber Road, Putnam, CT 06260.
