Putnam – Evelyn (St. Marie) Jankot, 89, of Roosevelt Street, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Day Kimball Hospital. She was the wife of Adam Jankot. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Excelia (Bibeault) St. Marie.
Mrs. Jankot was an LPN at Day Kimball Hospital and also taught Art for the Killingly School Department. Mrs. Jankot enjoyed her grandchildren, as well as rug-hooking and painting. She was a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jankot leaves her son, Stephen Jankot of Killingly; her daughters, Christine Jankot of Putnam and Susan Jankot of Woodstock; and two grandchildren, Robert Gradie IV and Margaret Gradie.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Evelyn’s family at Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT on Sunday, March 25 from 3:00-6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 26 at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
