Evelyn Quigley
1921 – 2010
Pomfret – Evelyn (Corcoran) Quigley, 88, formerly of Fox Hill Road in Pomfret, died Monday, March 22, 2010 in Coventry RI. She was the loving wife of the late Andrew Quigley. Born in Killingly, she was the daughter of the late James and Anita (Billings) Corcoran.
Mrs. Quigley graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing in Worcester MA, and later worked as a nurse for Day Kimball Hospital and other health care providers. She also worked as a clerk in the Pomfret Post Office.
Mrs. Quigley enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Michael Quigley of Ann Arbor, MI, and Andrew Quigley Jr. of Pomfret; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Quigley.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Evelyn’s family from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Most Holy Trinity Church 568 Pomfret Road, Pomfret. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Providence Street, Putnam.
