1941 – 2008

Quinebaug – Ernest A. Mayotte, 66, of Green Acres Lane, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at home unexpectedly.  He was the loving husband of the late Joan (Korch) Mayotte until her death in 2004.  Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Armand and Flora (Choiniere) Mayotte.

Mr. Mayotte worked as the publisher for the Webster Times.  He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. Ernest was a member and past chairman on the Thompson Board of Education and coached for Thompson Little League. He was also a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to Walt Disney World.  He loved to socialize with family and friends.

Ernest is survived by his sons, Michael Mayotte and his wife Roberta of Danielson, and David Mayotte and his wife Janet of Woodstock; his daughter, Janet Wornham and her husband John of Worcester, MA; six grandchildren, and his special friend Aline Syriac of Danielson.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ernest’s family from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT.  A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or to St. Joseph’s Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255.
