Woodstock – Erlene (Powers) Grendell, 70, of Rockyhill Rd. died Monday, April 23, 2012 in UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA. She was the loving wife of Leslie Grendell. Born in Bangor, ME, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Birdie (Caco) Powers.
Mrs. Grendell was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and her home. She loved caring for her dogs and enjoyed crocheting.
In addition to her husband, Erlene is survived by her sons, Stephen W. Grendell and his wife Brenda of Maine, Richard W. Grendell of Woodstock, Brent W. Grendell and his wife Cheryl of Leicester, MA, and Dale W. Grendell and his wife Melissa of Charlton, MA; her sisters, Tamara “Tammy” Smith of Maine, and Laurie Severance of Maine; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, the late John Powers; and her sister, the late Jackie Anne Powers.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Erlene’s family from10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. Burial will be private as requested by the family. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
