
1928 – 2020
Putnam – Emily (Fury) Masiello, 92, beloved wife of the late Augustine M. Masiello passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, December 7, 2020.
Emily was born on June 14, 1928 in New York, NY, to the late Carmen and Emma (Utting) Fury. She married Gus on June 13, 1948 and they settled in Wayland MA and later in Woodstock, CT.
Emily helped manage the family business and enjoyed her career as a secretary in the human resources department at Day Kimball Hospital. Upon retirement she dedicated her time to many volunteer opportunities, including more than 20 years of service to Harrington Memorial Hospital as well as Roseland Cottage in Woodstock. In addition to volunteering, Emily enjoyed taking long walks and traveling. She especially enjoyed trips to Italy, Germany, and Greece.
Emily is survived by her daughters, Janet Perry and her husband Bruce of Jacksonville, FL and Carolyn Hart of Woodstock CT, as well as son Curtis Masiello and his wife Patti of Alexandria, VA; her twin sister, Georgina Haight of Keene NH, and eight grandchildren; Christopher Perry and his wife Jessica, Daniel Perry and his wife Kim, Rachel Perry, Chad Hart and his wife Sara, Chris Hart and his wife Nicole, Sara Sirard and her husband Jeff, Emily Masiello and Curtis Masiello Jr. and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Christopher Lee Masiello.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Matulitis Nursing Home for their excellent care of Emily. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be private.
