Pomfret Center – Elizabeth (Betty) A. Smock, age 83, of Deerfield Rd., formerly of Groton, CT. and Delran, NJ died Sunday evening, December 20, 2020 at Day Kimball Hospital. Born in Libertyville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude Snow of Sun City, AZ.
After high school, Betty earned a BA degree from Purdue University and worked full time at a variety of positions throughout her life until her retirement in 1997. She eventually settled in Eastern, CT.
She is survived by her daughter Sandy and her husband Randy Hodnett of San Antonio, TX; her son, Steven and his wife Tara Smock of Woodstock, CT; her grandchildren, Victor and his wife Linda Wozaniak of Ramsey, MN, Sara Wozniak of Leesville, LA, Emily and Lily Smock of Woodstock, CT; as well as her great grandchildren, Kaylin and Evalin Wozniak of Ramsey, MN; and her best friend, Carol Ortlip of Delran, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband, the late William L. Smock, and her brother Donald Snow.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT. 06260. Due to the current Corona Virus pandemic, no services or visitation are planned. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanandValade.com.
