Putnam – Duane B. Race, 45, of Battey St., died Monday, November 12, 2012 in Worcester after injuries sustained in an accident caused by a drunk driver. He was the loving husband of Danielle (Wagher) Race and beloved son-in-law to Al and Diane Wagher of N. Grosvenordale. Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of Duane P. Race of Florida, and the late Marguerite (Ring) Race.
Mr. Race was a 1985 graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade School and was a United States Navy Veteran. At the time of his death, he worked as a delivery driver for Hostess Brands. He enjoyed horses and reading.
In addition to his wife and parents, Duane is survived by his sons, Trevor and Dakota Race of Putnam; his daughter, Samantha Fisher and her husband Zack of RI; his sisters, Di-Ann Ethier and her husband Paul of Cherry Valley, MA, Kandi Cook and her husband Steve of Spencer, MA., and Michelle Scott and her husband Devin of Chandler, AZ; his granddaughter, Arabella Fisher and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Duane’s family from 3:00pm to 5:30pm on Saturday November 17, 2012 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam with a Funeral Service held at 5:30pm in the funeral home. We went to trade school together we all had a small group to hang around even from our small friend Joanne bolduc Duane was kind considerate person even when we went to Montreal, Canada for our class trip he knew Joanne was scared to go he kept a good eye on Joanne she was only 4/11inches and Duane towards over her we will miss him our good friend he will never be forgotten
