Dorothy E. Gilbert
1927 – 2010
Danielson – Dorothy (Hanson) Gilbert, 82, formerly of Putnam, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Regency Heights. She was the loving wife of the late James F. Gilbert. Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Kelley) Hanson.
Mrs. Gilbert worked as a cashier for Pevner’s Pharmacy for five years before retiring in the late 1970’s. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, the Polish Club, and the former Irish Club.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Margaret Guerra and her husband David of Putnam; her son, Douglas Gilbert of Norwich; her sisters, Mary Sheehan of Everett, MA, Beverly Hanson of Massachusetts, and Barbara Carbone of Cambridge, MA; Six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
At Dorothy’s request, services are private. Gilman Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.
We love you Nana and will miss you terribly. Thank you for all the love and care you gave to us throughout the years and all the memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. I look forward to the days to see you again.
