1962 – 2020
Danielson – Dominique J. Fauteux, 58, of Killingly, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at UMass Memorial Hospital. She fought a long and strenuous battle to the end. Born in Sherbrooke, P.Q. Canada, she was the daughter of Rita (Lamoureux) Fauteux and the late Gaetan Fauteux and moved to the United States in 1966.

Dominique was an operations officer for Bank Hometown. She attended the Connecticut School of Banking and worked for Cargill Bank, Norwich Savings Society, Baystate Savings Bank before joining Millbury Savings Bank as the operations Manager in April of 2017. When they merged with Bank Hometown in 2019, Dominique joined forces with the operations staff at the main office in Oxford. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail established her as a valuable productive member of the team.

She had her own mechanics’ tools and had learned from her father to do maintenance on her vehicles. She never walked away from hard work and especially liked working with her hands sanding and painting. She enjoyed photography, loved to walk on the beach and especially loved her cats: “Sonny and Cher.”

In addition to her mother Rita, Dominique is survived by her sister Lyne (Fauteux) Grillo and brother-in-law Jean-Pierre. She also leaves to mourn her, a large family in the province of Quebec where she loved to visit and several special friends.

Dominique was a private person, unique in many ways. If you were fortunate enough to get to know her on a personal level, you found yourself the recipient of a sincere and loyal comrade. She will be dearly missed.

Given the current health concerns, there will be no public calling hours or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St. Putnam, CT. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory. For memorial guestbook, please visit www.GilmanandValade.com.

Condolence from Harvey (Duffy) and Jane Duffany on April 11th, 2020 6:59 am

To Dominique’s family:

Both my husband and I were extremely saddened to read this news. I worked with Dominique many years ago at Cargill Bank. She was a beautiful and confident young woman. We both moved on and reconnected recently when both of our mothers were residents at Matulaitis Nursing Home. Talking with her and getting to know her outside of the workplace showed me a very different side of her. She was fun and fun loving and genuinely cared about others. When she found out my mother spoke French, she would stop and speak to her in the hallway. She was a loving and faithful daughter and her mother was lucky to have her. When she would bring the little dog into the nursing home, all the residents loved it and Dominique would stop and let them pet her. Our condolences go out to all of Dominique’s family.

I cherish every moment I was able to spend with Dom. And I know I am not just speaking for myself. I could honestly write forever of the memories and love I have for you but I wanted to keep this short and simple. Rest in peace my friend I miss you every day!
I know I gained another angel and you will watch over me. Thank you for being a part of my life and calling me your friend.

Dominique will be missed each and everyday not only by me but I’m sure by anyone that knew her. She was one of my closest friends and I have known her for so long and words cannot express enough. We had some great times together and they will never be forgotten and the memories will live on forever. She was such a hard worker and took so much pride in everything she did. Very sad to hear about Dom passing away. We were next door neighbors at Wyndham Landing for 16 years…..most of our interaction took place in the driveway, either shoveling snow or many Saturday’s in the driveway, washing and waxing our cars…..which often led to lawn chairs and a cocktail afterwards.

Condolence from Dorothy Syriac on April 14th, 2020 12:38 pm

I was so sad to hear of Dominique passing. She worked as an officer at Cargill Bank where I worked years ago. She was so helpful to me teaching me how to be a good banker. Along with the other staff at Cargill, Dominique was like our family. It was a small bank but powerful with Dominique’s abilities. I remember her great personality, her love for her position, her kindness and her faithfullness. I could make her laugh and let me say her laugh would make others want to smile and laugh. She will be missed and I pray for her family in this life and after. I will always pray for Dominique, . I will have novenas said for her. May God Bless Dominique’s Family.
