David

David A. Walsh
1959 – 2012

Woodstock – David A. Walsh, 52, formerly of Blackstone, MA passed away in his sleep early Sunday morning September 23, 2012 with dignity and love at the dream home that he built with his dearest partner of 10 years, Michael A. Always smiling and kind-hearted, Mr. Walsh enjoyed working as an inspector for Whitcraft Group. In his leisure he was an exceptional gourmet cook and he also had a green thumb. He wrote a gardening column for the Blackstone Enlightener and planted thousands of daffodils at his new home.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, Mr. Walsh was the devoted son of the late Michael J. Walsh, Jr. and the late Yvette D. (Jodoin) Walsh. In addition to his partner, David is survived by his brothers, Thomas A. Walsh and his wife Chantal of Gloucester County,VA, James M. Walsh and his wife Cathy of Mapleville, RI, Kenneth A. Walsh and his wife Sally of Blackstone, MA, and John A. Walsh of Blackstone, MA; his Godmother, Pauline Bibeault of Blackstone, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, the late Michael J. Walsh III and his Godfather, Richard Bibeault.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00am at Most Holy Trinity Church, 586 Pomfret Road, Pomfret, CT.

Memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to Hospice of NECT, P.O. Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260; or to The Irish Terrier Rescue Network, PO Box 3542, Laurel, MD 20708. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.

It was with shock that I heard the news of David’s illness and great sadness that I hear of his passing.

I met David when he and Mike applied to adopt a red dog through Irish Terrier Rescue Network. His kindness, sense of humor, and love of family were all very evident. We had many pleasant conversations leading up to the day Harry went home with his Dads.

The world lost a true gentleman on September 23, 2012. My deepest sympathies and condolences to David’s family. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

    To David’s family,

Please accept our condolences for the loss of your spouse, brother, and uncle. He was too young to pass away, at least by earthly standards.

While we hoped for the best at the onset of David’s illness, time revealed the true extent of his condition and we were saddened by his declining condition.

My personal connection to David, however, spans years, and knowing that he was leaving us saddened me a great deal. Memories of he and I as young teens growing up nearby made him more than just an in-law relation, but a neighborhood friend. He was, indeed, a nice guy, and he made the world a better place for those of us who knew him.

My deepest sympathy to all of you, and may God bless David.

I was so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. I met Dave through my friends Pete and Rich when we bowled together in Johnston RI. We enjoyed many fun times at Pete and Rich’s home also. My favorite memory was when they were throwing a surprise birthday party for me at Dave’s home and everyone thought someone else had invited me when no one invited me. So they all sang to me and told me about my presents via phone. I remember Dave as being a kind and sincere person. Rest in peace/god bless–Charlene (VanMeter) Barrette
