Danielson – Darlene (Farland) Blain, 60, of Oak St, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Backus Plainfield Emergency Care Center. She was the beloved wife of Wilfred “Wil” Blain. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Beverly (Jaquish) Farland.

Darlene worked as a secretary for the Danielson Lodge of Elks where she was a longtime member. Over the years she volunteered much of her time and energy to their various charities and made countless friends. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and had an eye for photography. Darlene was a big fan of the Green Valley Blackhawks and could be found in the stands cheering at most games. Above all else she loved spending time with family and attended every school event, sports game, ceremony and recital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her selfless nature and gentle spirit will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Jenn DeLeon and her husband Raymond of Putnam; her step-daughters, Laurie Guay of Thompson, and Lynn Laperle of Brooklyn; her brothers, Norman Farland of RI, and Michael Farland of Plainfield; her sister, Sandy Whiteley of Parkton, NC; her grandchildren, Tyler, Shealyn, Alexa, Amy, and Mathew, Brittany, and Aron; and her great grandchildren, Sami, Logan, Safia, and Axel.

Services are private and arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St, Putnam, CT. Donations may be made to the Danielson Fire Department, 47 Academy St, Danielson, CT 06239. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanandValade.com.
