I remember, Dan, the man, from many years ago. You see, he fell in love with my favorite cousin in the whole world, Barbara Garone, They were both over the moon when they became parents to the adorable Stacey, and Scotty, who was a little comedienne. Dan really loved life, people and adventure. He was an intelligent, well spoken man who was always really eager to explain something to you…..I always thought that he was a cool guy….I remember him with his sunglasses, and his sportscar…….Scott will be missed Michele Clare

To Dan’s family, I send my deepest sympathies. I knew Dan from Parent’s Without Partners. I thought I was the only one who called him, “Dan the Man” Otero. He was one of the nicest guys I had the pleasure to have known. I am sorry I can’t be there for the family.

We will always remember Dan for the wonderful and warm times we shared traveling with Kathy and him, laughing over the silliest things, eating , of course!, mussels and tappas and discussing ad infinitum religion, politics and all those things you are not supposed to be able to talk about with others but that Dan was so interested in and open about discussing. Our thoughts go out to all who will miss Dan and his great sense of humor and warm loving smile and hugs.

We were sad to hear of Dan passing. His sense of humor and interesting conversation will be greatly missed at family gatherings!! He was such a nice guy, and always learning something new. We will be having a Black Russian, or two this weekend in Dan’s honor.

A gentle soul and a good man. Dan, although forced to slow down by his body later in life, seemed to always stay involved in his passions, from admiring photography to cooking his beloved Italian dishes to tinkering in his basement workshop! I don’t think I will see a Lionel train running around the base of a Christmas tree again and not think of Dan. I am glad I had the chance to know him. Goodbye Dan, we will miss you, see you again further down the road.

I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. I never met Dan, however I spoke to him a couple of times last spring over the phone. He seemed like a real friendly person. And now that I’ve seen a photo of him, I said to myself,” Boy what a friendly face he has”
Once again my deepest condolence.
