Putnam – D. Alice Streich, 76, of Thurber Road, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Matulaitis Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of Robert L. Streich, Sr. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Castonguay) Nadeau.
Mrs. Streich worked as a sales person in the retail industry. She operated a flea market booth in Florida for many years. She also worked for Knox Glass, C & M Manufacturing, and American Standard. She enjoyed making crafts, reading, and cooking.
In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by her son, Bernard Streich of Homosassa, FL; her daughter, Donna M. Houle of Brooklyn, CT; her brothers, Ronald Nadeau of Oswego, NY, and Roger Nadeau of Niantic, CT; her sisters, Lauraine White of Westbrook, CT, Lillian Gibson of Dayville, Elaine Nadeau of Putnam, and Jeannette Shaw of Putnam; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons, the late Robert L. Streich, Jr., and the late Bruce Streich.
