Cynthia L. Wilson

1947 – 2009

Quinebaug – Cynthia L. (Nutt) Wilson, 68, of Center Lane, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at home.  Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ellen Vera (Twombly) Nutt.

Cynthia retired from Northeast Utilities/ Yankee Gas.  She enjoyed making handcrafted rugs and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball fanatic, and followed the Connecticut Suns Basketball Team.  She was a member of the Creation Church in Thompson.  Cynthia was formerly active as a coach for the Thompson Lassie League for many years.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Saad and her husband Anthony of Oxford, MA; her son, Bernard J. LaFountain, Jr. of Webster, MA; her sisters, Dorothy Alcott of Putnam, “Trudie” Ann Wade of Milford, NH, and Shirley Jean Nolan of Tewksbury, MA; her grandchildren, Jared Saad, Jennifer LaFountain, Anthony LaFountain, and Ryan Prentiss.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Cynthia’s family from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2009 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.  A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford, MA.
