1918 – 2013

N. Grosvenordale – Claire (Langelier) Howland, 95, of Linehouse Rd., died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in DayKimballHospital.  She was the loving wife of the late Ralph W. Howland.  Born in Wilsonville, CT., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ora (Pratt) Langelier.

Mrs. Howland worked as an inspector for the American Optical Corp.  She previously worked for Durand Candy and The Snowsuit Factory.  She was a member of The Thompson Senior Citizens, and a lifelong communicant of Saint Stephens Church.

Mrs. Howland enjoyed her family and many caregivers.

Claire is survived by her daughter, Linda Demers and her husband Roland Demers, Jr. of N. Grosvenordale; her brother, Raymond Langelier of Wilsonville, her grandchildren, Brian Demers of N. Grosvenordale, and Kevin Demers of AZ; and her great grandson, Payton Demers.  She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are in invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Claire on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. JosephChurch, 18 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.  Burial will follow in St. JosephCemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Community Ambulance, PO Box 874, N.Grosvenordale, CT06255.  For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
