We will dearly miss you Grammy Phil! I’ll always cherish my childhood summer trips to Topside – the beautiful wooded setting, the winding stone walls, the ice-cold pond water down by the dam and the quiet darkness of night blanketing the mountain top enough for us to run full speed from the house to our cabin in fear of encountering a hungry bear. I’ll be sure to read your poetry and stories of backyard animal friends to our daughter Violet who will be 2 soon and has a quickly growing curiosity and imagination of the other smaller worlds within ours. I’ll always miss your soothing, warm voice and cheery smile. We love you Grammy Phil.
