
1920 – 2012
North Grosvenordale – Cecile (Bergeron) Myrteza, 92, formerly of First St., passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial on June 30, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Kemal “Jimmy” Myrteza and daughter of the late Napolean and Marie Louise (Bergeron) Bergeron. Cecile was the last of 16 children and was predeceased by eight brothers and seven sisters. She was born April 7, 1920 in Ste. Julie P.Q., Canada.
Mrs. Myrteza worked as a packer and inspector for Borden Confectionary, Deran Confectionary and later CS Allen in North Grosvenordale for 27 years. She was a former floor lady in the packing and inspection departments and retired in 1984. Cecile was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, North Grosvenordale. Cecile had a great love for her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were one of her greatest joys in her life. She also enjoyed her favorite wrestling shows every Thursday night and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Cecile leaves behind her only daughter, Jeannette Bibek, wife of Jack, of North Grosvenordale; her three special grandchildren, Dawna Duff of Woodstock, John Bibek and his wife Molly of Westminster, CO, and Angela Warwick and her husband Scott of Tewksbury, MA. She also leaves behind a great-granddaughter Zofia Bibek and two great-grandsons, Troy and Logan Warwick, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved four-legged furry companions, Abbey and Zack.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Cecile’s family on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A gathering will begin on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 9:00 am in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.
