North Grosvenordale – Cecile A. Alim, 86, of Main St., died Thursday, May 21, 2009. She was the loving wife of the late Romeo J. Alim. Born in North Grosvenordale, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Malvina (Ravenelle) Morin.
Mrs. Alim was a graduate of Tourtolotte Memorial High School and St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven. She worked as a Nurse in Day Kimball Hospital for 14 years, Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg for 3 years as well as the Thompson Medical Center for 10 years. Mrs. Alim served as a US Cadet Nurse during WWII. Mrs. Alim enjoyed traveling and reading and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Cecile is survived by two sons, Richard Alim of Cheshire CT, and Robert Alim of Bristol, CT; three daughters, Carol Blanchette of Fairfield CT, Susan Rivers of North Grosvenordale, and Barbara Alim of Bristol, CT; a brother, Reginald Morin of Danielson, CT; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a loving group of friends and caregivers.
Relatives and friends are invited to Cecile’s Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at 11:00am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
