Woodstock – Carol Sue Perkins, 68, of 10 Cornfield Point, died Wednesday morning, March 10, 2021 at home. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Glenn R. and Margie Sue (Tadlock) Perkins.
Ms. Perkins spent her insurance career working as a national accounts’ underwriter and risk management consultant for Travelers, The Hartford Insurance Companies, and First State, achieving the title of VP. Carol was also the founder and proprietor of CoCo’s Cottage in Woodstock. Her love for helping women create their unique style is evident in the personality of the store. She also enjoyed traveling.
Carol is survived by her companion, Thomas “Tom” Laskey of Dayville and Woodstock; her siblings, Cynthia “Cindy” Beall of Jackson, MS, Glen R. “Ricky” Perkins, Jr. of Leipers Fork, TN, Nancy Watkins of Jasper, GA, and Leigh Ann Childs of Weddington, NC; and her nephew Griffin Childs.
Nothing was more important to Carol than family and their happiness. Her love of family was never-ending and undeniable. Carol had a unique gift of making others feel special by taking an interest in their life. She can be defined as a genuinely kind, caring and giving person.
A celebration of Carol’s life is being planned for April. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260.
