Bernard J. LaFountain, Sr.
1939 – 2011
Putnam – Mr. Bernard J. LaFountain, 71, formerly Grove Street died Wednesday April 6, 2011 in Matulaitis Nursing Home. Born in Webster MA, he was the son of the late Francis and Theresa (Bonneau) LaFountain, Sr.
Mr. LaFountain worked as an upkeep mechanic for Glass Container in Dayville. He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran and a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bernard is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Saad and her husband Anthony, of Oxford MA; his son, Bernard J. LaFountain, Jr. of Webster, MA, his brother Ronald LaFountain of Hillsboro OR; his sisters, Dorothy Franek, Carol Spits and Marilyn Robinson, all of Webster MA; and four grandchildren Jared Saad, Jennifer LaFountain, Anthony LaFountain, and Ryan Prentiss. Mr. LaFountain was pre-deceased by his brother, Francis “Skip” LaFountain, Jr.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Bernard’s family on Friday April 8, 2011 at 10:30 am in Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam CT Burial with Military Honors in St. Mary Cemetery.
