
Putnam- Antoinette D. Carpenter, 91 of Dufault Street died Saturday June 10, 2006 in Vernon, CT after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Vernon Carpenter. Born in Saint-Damien De Brandon, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Anna (Breault) Turenne.
Mrs. Carpenter worked as a twister for the former Hale Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Putnam Travelers Club.
She is survived by a son, Robert Jarvais of Milford CT; 2 daughters Jeanne DeSantis of Marlboro, NY and Janet Szumowski of Ellington, CT; 3 brothers, Henry Turenne and Normand Turenne both of Putnam and Theodore Turenne of Canandaigua, NY, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Theresa Robillard, Aline Robert, Jeanne Currier and Donat Turenne.
A Funeral will be held at 10am Wednesday in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St Mary’s Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., and burial in St Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Service of Connecticut, 8 Keynote Dr., Vernon, CT 06066.
