Ann (Russo) Carminati

1925 – 2009

Woodstock – Ann Carminati, 84, of West View Drive, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Day Kimball Hospital.  She was the loving wife of Chris Carminati for 55 years.  Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Grasso) Russo. 

Mrs. Carminati was a homemaker who loved family gatherings.  She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining her many friends during the holidays.  She was an especially loving wife, mother, and grandmother. 

In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by her sons, Vinnie Carminati and his wife Rosemary of Dayville, and Tony Carminati of Woodstock; her brothers, Jim Russo of Southbury, CT, and Tony Russo of Saddle Brooke, NJ; her sisters, Millie Tenore of Commack, LI, and Phyllis Poggioli of Commack, LI; her grandchildren, Natalie, Michael and Antonia.  She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Michael and Pat Russo. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ann’s family from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 19, 2009 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.  A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Friday in the funeral home; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, CT. Burial will follow in Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock, CT.  Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 279 New Britain Road, Kensington, CT, 06037.
