1932 – 2008

Pomfret – Ann (Donlon) Navarro, 76, of Freedley Road, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, in Worcester, MA after a brief illness.  Born in Pomfret, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ann (Melia) Donlon.  She was the loving wife of Raymond Navarro.  They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in October 2.

Mrs. Navarro worked as a nurse’s aid for Day Kimball Hospital for many years.  A 1950 graduate of Putnam High School, she was a lifelong communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.  Ann enjoyed visiting with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren.  She had a special fondness for her dog, “Maggie”.

In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by her three sons, Raymond D. Navarro and his wife Donna, Daniel Navarro and his wife Sandra; and David Navarro, all of Pomfret; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Patrick, Drew, David, Alison, Elizabeth, and Anthony.  She was the mother of the late Lisa Navarro-Greenman and the sister of the late Eileen Adint.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ann’s family from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 30, 2008 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.  A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Road, Pomfret.  Burial will be held in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Connecticut Library for the Blind and Handicap, 198 West St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
