Angelo Palazzo

1920 – 2010

N. Grosvenordale – Angelo Palazzo, 89, of Riverside Drive., died Monday, March 15, 2010 in Day Kimball Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Agnes (Brodeur) Palazzo.  Born in West Warwick, RI, he was the son of the late Guisseppe and Antoinette Palazzo.

Mr. Palazzo was a WWII Army Veteran, and then went on to work as a salesperson in the several retail stores.  He was the past president of the Putnam Lions Club and served as Chaplin for the Putnam Elks Club.  Mr. Palazzo was very active in the formation of the Putnam Little League, and enjoyed gardening and golf.

In addition to his wife, Angelo is survived by his daughters, Mary Palazzo of East Longmeadow, MA, Angela Dwyer of Dudley, MA, Rose Gagnon of Woodstock, and Christine Kingsbury of Thompson; his stepson, David Szpyrka of Plainfield, CT; his sisters, Josephine, Anna, Theresa and Ursala; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son, the late Clement J. “Sonny” Palazzo.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Angelo’s family from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

    Sorry to hear of the loss of my grandfather and father. It’s a shame I never got to meet them. I would like to find out more of my family and get in contact with my family. Maybe build a relationship. The resembelence between Angelo and myself are uncanny, please contact me, I would love to know what Shelly and John look like,Thanks for your time..and again,my condolences. I would like to peice my life together somewhat.
