Putnam – Angelo Navarro, 89, of Church St., died Friday, June 7, 2013 in Matulaitis Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of Lorraine (Bouley) Navarro for 64 years. Born in North Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late Sam and Jenny (Leo) Navarro.
Mr. Navarro worked as a machine operator for Borden’s Candy Co. in North Grosvenordale. Angelo was a member of the American Legion Post 67 and the St. Bernard council of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed golf, baseball, and watching NASCAR.
In addition to his wife, Angelo is survived by his daughters, Nancy Pasela and her husband Paul of Smithfield, RI and Linda Richard and her husband Jim of Putnam; his brothers, Daniel Navarro of Pompano Beach, FL, John Navarro of Dayville, and Raymond Navarro of Pomfret; and his grandchild, Brad Aubin and his wife Tracy. Angelo is predeceased by his brothers; Rocco Navarro, Joseph Navarro, Anthony Navarro, David Navarro, Sal Navarro, Edward Navarro and his sister Lena Deotte.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Angelo’s family from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday, June 14, 2013 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 230 Providence St, Putnam, CT.
