1931 – 2012

Putnam– Alice (Bourey) Montigny, 80, of Fremont St., died Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Day Kimball Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was the loving wife of Richard E. Montigny for 23 years. Born in Plainfield, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Blanchette) Bourey.

Mrs. Montigny worked as a textile worker for Belding Heminway and Hale Manufacturing. She loved yard sales, flea markets, flower gardening and cleaning her house. She was a warm and caring lady and she will be missed greatly.

In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by her daughters, Marlene Clark and her husband Tim of E. Killingly, Dale Moore and her husband David of Port Charlotte, FL, Kim Beauregard of New York, Genie Johnson and her husband Mike of Woodstock, Amber Lucke and her husband Jeff of Michigan; her sisters, Theresa Bellavance of Plainfield, and Linda Bellavance of Moosup, CT; her fourteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; her stepchildren, Ross, Jay, Todd, Maria, and Robin. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Darlene Beauregard and her brothers, the late William and Gene Bourey.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Alice’s family from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.

    I am so sorry to hear about Alice. I don’t know if you remember me. I use to work at Center Court at Matulaitis with Sue. The picture of her is so beautiful just like she was inside. You were a wonderful husband. God bless you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

    Dear Richard and Family,
    Alice was a beautiful person, inside and out. She had a great sense of humor and loved my yard sales! She loved my daughter Melanie and she loved her back! She definitely will be very much missed.
