Woodstock – Alice (Millea) Taylor, 85, of Shelton, CT for 83 years until moving to Woodstock, CT to live with her daughter, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, in her home. She was the loving wife of the late Jonathan Clinton Taylor for 65 years. Born in Derby, CT, she was the daughter of the late Edward Keron Millea and the late Gladys (Lockwood) Millea.
Alice worked for many years as a Secretary for the Shelton Board of Education where she made friendships which continued for the rest of her life. She loved sports having been President of the Quarterback club, participating in the Diamond club, running the Little League food stand for years, and being a devout Yankees fan. Alice’s hobbies were traveling, camping, and crafts of all kinds. Alice was blessed with a large and loving family and gathering with them for any occasion brought her the greatest joy.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Kevin) Chavez of Woodstock, Lauren (Christopher) Cremers of Woodstock,; three sons, Jonathan (Linda) Taylor of Shelton, Keron (Cynthia) Taylor of Bethany, Andrew Taylor of Derby; two brothers, Edward (Maryann) Millea, Dennis (Karen) Millea; three sisters, Mary (Ronald) Herrick, Karen (Robert) Freddino, Gladys (Raymond) Funaro; fifteen grandchildren, Bryan, Jonathan (Sydney), Casey, Morgan, Jamie, Emily, Bridget, Kate(Paul), Carolyn(Mike), Christopher(Briana), Mitchell, Jacob, Cole, Reid, and Tate; and four great-grandchildren, Emma, Cora, Harrison, and Samantha.
The family has decided to postpone a service until spring.
