
Adelard J. “Del” Cotnoir
1932 – 2012
Thompson – Adelard J. “Del” Cotnoir, 80, of Quaddick Rd, formerly of Clarence Drive, Quaddick died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at home. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Hector and Olina (Dumas) Cotnoir.
Del started out working at Gammino Construction and then went on to own and operate Del’s Trucking and Excavation. He was a member of the Elks, Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club, and the Thompson Rod & Gun Club. He liked to play cards, mostly cribbage and pitch. He was known for holding an annual Fourth of July cookout for all of his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Del is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Cotnoir and his wife Brenda of E. Putnam, Bruce Cotnoir and his wife Korey of Webster, Glenn Cotnoir and his girlfriend Nancy of Thompson, and Gary Cotnoir of Pascoag, RI; his daughters, Charlotte Jablonski and her husband Ray of Thompson, Donna Hall and boyfriend Pete of Thompson, and Laurie Bellanceau and husband Leo of Thompson; his sisters, Marie Cusson of Manchester, NH, and Elizabeth Lajoie of FL; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Mary of Pascoag, RI. He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Wilbur Cotnoir, and Nelson Cotnoir; and his sister, the late Jacqueline Cusson.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Del’s family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, September 14, 2012 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A gathering will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday, September 15, 2012 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. very sorry to hear of the passing of Del. my dad and Del were very good friends and that’s how i came to know Del.He was a great man and will be missed by many. “they don’t make men like Del anymore”.
