
Adam L. Jankot
1917 – 2009
Putnam – Adam L. Jankot, 91, formerly of Roosevelt St, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Westview Healthcare Center. He was the loving husband of the late Evelyn E. (St. Marie) Jankot. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Albert and Marie Jankot.
Mr. Jankot worked for the U.S. Post Office in Putnam as a letter carrier and clerk. He also worked for the American Woolen Mill. He was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam and a member of the American Legion and the Quinnatisset Country Club. Adam was an avid blood donor.
Adam is survived by his son, Stephen L. Jankot of Killingly; two daughters, Christine S. Jankot of Putnam, and Susan L. Jankot of Woodstock; and two grandchildren, Robert Gradie and Margaret Gradie. He was the brother of the late Julia Fagan, Joseph Jankot, John Jankot, and Walter Jankot.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Adam’s family from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday February 9, 2009 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday February 10, 2009 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam.
