Michael W. Swenson
1954 – 2009

Putnam – Michael W. Swenson, 54, of River Road, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Putnam. He was the loving husband of Christine Swenson. Born in Greenwich, CT, he was the son of Bernice (Comeau) Swenson and the late William Swenson.

Mr. Swenson worked as a self-employed painting contractor. Mike was a two-term selectman for the town of Putnam during the years 2001 thru 2004. He enjoyed collecting cars, toys, and guitars. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Rangers. He served as a youth hockey coach for many years and enjoyed music.

Besides his wife and mother, Mike is survived by his brothers, Robert Swenson of Putnam, and Phillip Swenson of Brooklyn; and his sister, Margaret Jaffer of Shelton, CT.

At Michael’s request, services are private. Gilman Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Child Life Fund, UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center, c/o UMass Memorial Foundation, 365 Plantation Street , Worcester, MA 01605
