1937 – 2016
Windham, NH – Uta (Wellhoener) Lemmermann, 79, of Partridge Rd., passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with Parkinson’s on Monday, September 5, 2016. Born in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Katarina (Sydow) Wellhoener.
Ms. Lemmermann was a long time resident of Carlisle, MA. She was a devoted preschool teacher at the Red Balloon Nursery School, located at The First Religious Society in the center of Carlisle, retiring after 25 years in 1998. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed live music, hiking, flower gardening and spending time outdoors. She also loved to cook and bake German foods, where “Schnicklegruben” was the favorite family anecdote.
Uta is survived by her son, Marc Lemmermann and his wife Marguerite of Chelmsford, MA; daughter Tanya Graham and her husband Chris of Windham, NH; sisters, Ingrid Wellhoener of Littleton, MA, Tuetje Boevers of Windham, NH; and grandchildren, Tyler Graham, Jaclyn Graham, Maks Lemmermann, and Maarii Lemmermann. She was predeceased by her sister, the late Brigitte Even.
A Memorial Service will be held on September 18th, at 2pm at The First Religious Society, 27 School Street, in Carlisle, MA, in the Sanctuary. Immediately following her service, a gathering will be held in the Union Hall of The First Religious Society to further remember and celebrate Uta’s life.
