Little River, South Carolina – Sharon E. “Hon” (Johnson) Plouff, 73, formerly of Thompson, CT, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Hartford Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Milton C. Plouff. Born in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred (Kane) Johnson.
Mrs. Plouff attended Woodstock Academy and worked as a greenhouse worker for Ledgeside Nursey in Woodstock. She was a member of the Living Water Baptist Church in South Carolina and worked for the Prison Ministry in Brooklyn, CT. She volunteered for Special Olympics, and numerous animal shelters in South Carolina. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals both domestic and wild.
Sharon is survived by her sons, Gary C. Greene and his wife Sherry of Thompson, and Kevin A. Greene and his wife Diane of Sherman, TX formerly of Putnam; her brothers Bruce Johnson and his wife Susan of Woodstock; her grandchildren, Joshua Greene and his wife Kelly of Pomfret, Marci Seney and her husband Nathan of Thompson, Ashley Hendricksen of Brooklyn, CT, Traci Thigpen and her husband Bobby of Jacksonville, FL, Vanessa Martel and her husband Brian of Putnam, CT, Paul Frechette of Dudley, MA, Michael Parker and his wife Chrisie of Woodbury, CT, Jessica McClain of Pottsboro, TX, Heather Greene and her partner Amanda McCormack of Orlando, FL, Heather Stockton and her husband Kerry of Ivanhoe, TX, and Ryan Greene of Manchester, CT; her nephew Jeff Johnson of Danielson; her niece Lynn James of Brooklyn; her step daughter Michelle Davis and her husband Rob of CT; 21 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Ronald Johnson.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Sharon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 in South Woodstock Baptist Church, 23 Roseland Park Rd., Woodstock, CT 06281. A memorial visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260.
