Putnam – Roland L. Duquette, 60, of Myers St., died Friday, September 7, 2012, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Karen (Roy) Duquette for 33 years. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Arsene and Florence (Mailloux) Duquette.
Mr. Duquette worked for the Public Works Department for the Town of Putnam. He also worked for Grove St. Cemetery and Putnam Heights Cemetery for 19 years.
Roland enjoyed gardening, canning veggies, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Roland is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Hulse of California and Dawn Chmura and her husband Jeffrey of Putnam; his son, Tim Duquette and his girlfriend Ashley Lamondy of Putnam; his brothers, Arsene Duquette of N. Grosvenordale, Roger H. Duquette of N. Grosvenordale, David Duquette of N. Grosvenordale, and Kenneth P. Duquette of N. Grosvenordale; his sister, Elaine Akana of Thompson; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Roland is predeceased by his brother Maurice Duquette; and his sisters, Lorraine Labonte, and Precille St. George.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Roland’s family from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A gathering will begin at the Gilman Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 9:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St. N. Grosvenordale.
